Now, more than ever, commitment & performance with regard to health & safety is paramount.
We were already well versed in complying with the health & safety needs of the demanding environments in which we operate & routinely monitor the health of our employees.
COVID-19 has thrown up additional challenges but through consultation with our staff, clients & advisors we have managed our way through lockdown & into the new working landscape.
This landscape looks very different now but as we all know COVID-19 is here to stay & must be managed in the same way as any other risk in the workplace.
During lockdown we undertook our yearly Health & Safety Audit with Mark Dobson of the Hull Building Safety Group. These reviews not only ensure we are compliant, but also keep us moving forward. This would normally be done face to face in the office but we were Mark’s first audit carried out via Zoom to limit any potential risk.
We have also become part of ConCom (The Humber Contractor Competency Forum) during lockdown who carry out further auditing of our processes enabling their members to choose contractors in confidence. We are hoping that this will help us win work in some of the chemical, energy & pharmaceutical companies who use the scheme.
Over the years we have enrolled in a number of other SSIP’s, usually at the request of a specific client. Our current SSIP memberships include Constructionline, Alcumus SafeContractor, Avetta & CHAS which are all updated annually keeping us compliant.
